Title: Non-Executive Director (NED)

Payment: Expenses only
Time Commitment: 6 hours per month (3 of which will be spent at the monthly Board Meeting which take place on a weekday between the working hours of 9am – 5pm)

Description of the Role
To sit on the Arthr board, providing outside input to the direction of the business, ensuring governance and controls. The NED will be involved in policymaking and planning exercises. The NED will monitor the executive directors and act in the interests of the company stakeholders, such as investors, consumers and staff. As a member of the board, the NED will offer informed contribution on subjects such as:
- Strategic direction
- Performance management
- Remuneration
- Communication
- Risk
- Audit
The bias of this NED role is towards financial and control measures. Therefore the NED will provide insights to deliver best practice in this area, offering guidance to board decisions to ensure:
- Effective control processes
- Transparent reporting to the Arthr, Versus Arthritis finance team and charity trustees
- Effective decision making
Who Might be Ideal
This role would suit someone that is an experienced director-level finance leader. A working knowledge of a start-up or high growth environment, whilst understanding the requirements of investor reporting. The preferred candidate would have a passion for helping us succeed; An interest in doing work that is worth doing is a must. Arthr is a business established on the value of making every day better for our consumers. We would like to embrace your professional finance training and experience and build a business with sound fundamentals of finance and control at our core.
