Do you have a passion for London and want to help shape its future growth and infrastructure? Do you have strong project management skills and an ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders? If so, the GLA’s Infrastructure Team wants to hear from you.
The team is looking for two project support officers to work on a wide range of existing and new projects, supporting the development of initiatives designed to improve the way in which infrastructure is delivered in the city, with the goal of ensuring that London remains an attractive, equitable and productive place to live and work as it grows. The team you will join is high performing, benefiting from strong working relationships across the GLA. The team takes a strategic approach to infrastructure policy and delivery, tackling cross-cutting problems on behalf of our stakeholders, working with government, regulators and industry. As such you will be exposed to a diverse work programme that will support your career development and have the chance to work with people at a range of levels.
One of the roles is in the team’s Policy function working across the GLA and key stakeholders to support the delivery of the Mayor’s priorities and the Infrastructure Coordination Service (ICS). The position holder will have the chance to work a range of interesting policy areas including decarbonisation, resilience, improving diversity and inclusion of the infrastructure sector and economic recovery. The holder will also support the management of several stakeholder panels including the Infrastructure Advisory Panel, the Young Professionals Panel, and the London Infrastructure Group.
The other role has a delivery focus, working with a range of key partners and stakeholders and supporting all activities of the Infrastructure Coordination Service across its key service areas (streets, planning and development). The Service delivers innovative collaborative projects to improve the way infrastructure is planned and delivered in London.
Both roles require candidates that are well organised and demonstrate project management skills. You will also have strong problem solving and analytical skills, an ability to communicate effectively, and be comfortable working with a diverse range of people.
We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds. You may have studied or have work experience in areas such as economics, town planning, infrastructure policy, or other related areas. The key in your application is to demonstrate how your experience and skills are relevant to the position.
