Job Description

  • Management of in-house M&E maintenance operations team at Manchester Airport, including planned, reactive and small works across site. The role primarily focuses on managing a team of Mitie supervisors and engineers to achieve Mitie and contract KPI’s and performance measures..
  • Technical lead for the contract (sound knowledge of HVAC important)
  • Manage all site based supervisors and operatives, overseeing all aspects of their work, to include; carrying out safety inductions; tool box talks; controlling quality of work; ensuring method statement / Risk Assessments, order fulfilment, cleanliness & tidiness; the use of plant and tools, waste reduction; upkeep of plant and facilities; use of personal protection equipment/wear are in place.
  • Required to manage and support with the delivery of sub-contracted maintenance activities and standards where necessary.
  • Ensure that all works carried out are undertaken within current codes of practice and in accordance with client contract, and that works are to the required high standards.
  • To develop supervisors and engineers for career progression.
  • Providing technical advice / guidance to engineers and client where necessary.
  • Assisting engineers to maintain plant, PPM, personal and vehicle records
  • To identify areas for additional works within and out of the specified contractual requirements
  • Monthly reporting of PPM & reactive performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring PPM and reactive maintenance is effectively planned. 
  • Delivering small works and projects.
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
  • To understand and comply with policies and procedures
  • Identify potential training requirements for existing team in order to ensure any statutory requirements are met and efficient working practices are followed.
  • Provide Tool Box Talks in line with the company schedule.
  • Any other associated tasks that may be required from time to time
  • Effectively support the development of engineers capabilities, and be part of the annual appraisals
  • Achieve the highest standards of quality, service and presentation of the business
  • Foster client relationships and develop a culture of trust and respect
  • Provide engineering support on technical improvement
  • Provide monthly reports to Account  Manager regarding service delivery.
  • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
  • To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
  • To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
  • To ensure and promote good communication between all disciplines and ensure serious faults & incidents reported back to the business.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records for site attendance, site induction, tool box talks, accidents, good received, weekly site records, site safety inspections, plant register records, scaffold report records and all staff related forms / administration.


Qualifications

  • A proven track record in facilities related M&E building maintenance is essential.
  • City & Guilds qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential if suitable experience can be demonstrated.
  • Experience as a manager or engineering supervisor essential.
  • Experience managing a team of engineers is essential.
  • Experience of working on a large static / commercial site desirable.   
  • Capable of identifying and developing talent within the team.
  • Customer focused person with confidence in their skills and ability.
  • Able to hit the ground the running using own initiative and not require additional training.
  • Presentable and approachable
  • Ensures area of responsibility is to delivered to a high standard.
  • Able to work in a team or alone.
  • Motivated



Additional Information

Health and Safety responsibilities

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;

Information Security

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents;
