Job Description

  • Delivery of the energy management agenda for reduction,monitoring, reporting & statutory compliance against the agreed targets
  • Liasion and point of contact for off-site energy bureau services
  • Own & lead the contract ‘Social Impact and Sustainable Development Plan’
  • Responsible for the processes, procedures, controls and monitoring of energy systems to ensure an effective integrated supply chain operation
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining an energy management programme in association with the contract requirements and agreed consumption and carbon reduction targets
  • Communicate budgets, targets and benchmarks to Mitie teams and client
  • Ensure legislative requirements are met ie; carbon reduction commitment and display energy certificates
  • Provide support, information and direction to the SMT, operational management and wider teams
  • Provide written reports and presentations as required
  • Promote staff engagement and behavioural change to support energy reduction and meet KPI targets
  • Investigate and implement (where appropriate) energy initiatives from the wider external market
  • Manage flow of information and MI reporting with regard to cost and consumption in conjunction with the Mitie bureau in particular
  • Assist in the development of the policy/scope of metering/sub metering/AMR and subsequent input into the energy management database system and required interfaces
  • Develop and implement energy and sustainability related policies
  • Identify and develop opportunities for contract growth
  • Carry out site inspections and audits
  • Ensure Quality, Health, Safety and Environment targets are met
  • Support Account Director with all energy and sustainability related matters
  • Ensure operational management are kept informed of all aspects of plant performance and any such circumstances which may impact upon energy efficiency, reliability and cost effective operation of plant
  • Ensure that all third party contractors carrying out works do so in a safe and professional manner and abide by the relevant company and site specific procedures as applicable
  • Complete all administration tasks correctly and efficiently using the appropriate IT software
  • Carry out any reasonable request to perform duties as requested by the Account Director and Senior Leadership team

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in energy, engineering and building technologies
  • Proven experience in energy management
  • Extensive and demonstrable track record of identifying and implementing energy & sustainability initiatives
  • Commercial awareness
  • Experience of managing supply chains
  • Knowledge of building services including electrical, fabric and mechanical engineering
  • Ability to develop and nurture relationships with the client, colleagues and suppliers
  • Innovative and solution driven with an awareness of new technologies
  • Full driving licence
