MOPAC like most organisations is navigating through significant workforce and workplace change seeking to embed new ways of working and connecting whilst driving an inclusion and belonging culture. We recognise the scale of this challenge and have developed this new exciting role to lead inclusion and engagement and support the organisation to deliver its People Strategy.

Specifically, you will be:

  • Developing and leading a consistent and aligned approach to employee inclusion and engagement across MOPAC through interconnected responsibility for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Wellbeing and Engagement
  • Supporting the Head of HR & OD in developing cultural change and the effective implementation of hybrid working at MOPAC as part of the workplace transformation programme, ensuring effective engagement and communication with a focus on developing solutions that optimise the employee experience and consider all aspects of wellbeing.
  • Lead the implementation of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy to ensure that MOPAC continues its journey to becoming an inclusive organisation where everyone can thrive

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.

Political Restriction

Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.

Security Vetting Clearance

The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take around 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.

Where are we based?

The team is currently working from home in the main, however over the coming months we are moving to a hybrid working model with office hubs at Union Street (near London Bridge) and Newlands Park (postcode SE26). Further information on the relocation announcement, can be found here.
