The University of Salford is proud to be the fastest growing university in the North West. We are a civic university with deep roots in our local area, whilst making a major contribution regionally, nationally and internationally. Our vision is that by pioneering exceptional industry partnerships we will lead the way in real-world experiences preparing our students for life
The University of Salford is now seeking to appoint up to four new external members of Council. Council members support the development of the University, overseeing its strategy and long-term future. Using your skills, experience and a broad perspective, you could help the University to fulfil its mission. In return, you will have an opportunity to develop your professional profile and networks, working alongside a supportive team of your fellow Council members and staff.
The University of Salford currently has a highly dynamic and engaged group of members of Council who contribute a wide variety of skills and experience to the University. The University is seeking a diverse range of skills derived from a range of occupations and professions and sectors (public and private). Salford is an innovative and inclusive institution and it is therefore keen to hear from candidates at different points in their careers. We would particularly welcome interest from those with backgrounds in finance, accounting and HR but we are open to a range of skillsets, expertise and backgrounds. We would also welcome applications from those with strong connections to Salford and Greater Manchester.
Do not let this list define you - if you have the skills, drive and motivation to help the University of Salford thrive, we want to hear from you. We are an organisation that values diversity and inclusivity, and the benefits that diverse perspectives bring to our University and governance. We are keen to diversify the membership of the Council, and applications from candidates from BAME backgrounds, with declared disabilities, and LBGTQ+ candidates are encouraged.
Application is by submission of a full curriculum vitae and a covering letter of application, addressing outlining motivation and suitability and including suitable daytime and evening telephone contact details.
Completed applications should be uploaded at https://candidates.perrettlaver.com/vacancies/ quoting reference number 4784.
The closing date for applications is midnight (BST) on 27 September 2020.
All enquiries, in the first instance, should be directed to Phil Entwistle on +44 (0) 20 7340 6239 or Phil.Entwistle@Perrettlaver.com.
